A note from Dr. Little When I first started, I felt like something was wrong with me because I switched NP jobs four times. I worked at places that didn't respect, let alone, understand an NP's role. I also worked at places that compromised the safety of patients. I just wished I had more insight on what I was facing so I didn't have to feel like a failure. What can you learn from my experience? Be intentional about where you apply and find a mentor who can help buffer some things you do not have to experience so you can thrive in your first years.
